Pediatric Chiropractic For Acid Reflux

by Administrator 19. June 2017 13:49

Acid Reflux is a condition commonly seen in babies, specifically in the first few months after birth. It occurs when the contents of the stomach pass into the esophagus. In most cases, the condition is caused due to certain underlying health conditions. Chiropractic care is known to be one of the best treatment methods to control the symptoms associated with Acid Reflux.

Causes:

  • Vertebral misalignment
  • Injury in the lining of the esophagus
  • Allergic gastroenteritis
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease
  • Narrowing or blockage in the esophagus

Symptoms:

  • Frequently interrupted sleep
  • Excessive intestinal gas
  • Torticollis
  • Frequent vomiting
  • Excessive crying
  • Difficulty in breastfeeding

Pediatric Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care for Acid Reflux aims at removing nerve interference that is caused by subluxations in the spine present since birth. When the spine does not function properly, the spinal nerves feel the stress. This interferes with the body’s ability to carry important information to the brain through the central nervous system.

  • For treatment of Acid Reflux, the chiropractor will first hold the infant in his arms to check the length of the spine
  • He will diagnose the misaligned areas in the spine
  • The neck will then be examined to feel the vagus nerve that goes up to the stomach
  • If the neck is out of alignment, there is a possibility that the vagus nerve is under stress and is not functioning adequately.
  • This can make the stomach receive incorrect information from the brain thereby causing Acid Reflux
  • The chiropractor will apply very gentle pressure to correct the misalignment in the spine
  • Apart from this, nursing mothers are also advised to make certain changes in their diet so that the baby gets rid of Acid Reflux symptoms
  • Advantages Of Pediatric Chiropractic For Acid Reflux:
  • Chiropractic care is a safe mode of treatment as it is drug-free and completely non-invasive. It is effective and the patient does not require to undergo any surgical procedure.
  • Since the chiropractic technique is modified according to the child’s size and weight, it is a completely safe procedure
  • Apart from Acid Reflux, chiropractic care helps to treat other health conditions in infants such as ear infections, sleep problems, nursing difficulties etc.

We, at Corrective Chiropractic & Wellness, offer complete treatment for Acid Reflux and other pediatric conditions. For an appointment, call us at (254) 698 -1600.

by Administrator 24. May 2017 11:13

The neck is composed of seven bones stacked over each other and connected via various tendons and ligaments. A stretch or tear to any of these soft tissues may lead to extreme discomfort in the neck and may limit its motion. This condition is termed as Neck Sprain and can affect people of any age group.

Causes

  • Sleeping in the wrong position that overextends the neck
  • Injury to the neck during a collision or sports activity
  • Poor posture
  • Repetitive head movement
  • Keeping the neck bend for too long while talking on the cell phone
  • A Whiplash Injury

Symptoms

  • Pain at the back of the neck, that exacerbates with movement
  • Pain in the shoulder
  • Muscle spasms
  • Sore throat
  • Feeling irritated and fatigued
  • Difficulty in sleeping and concentrating
  • Numbness in the arm and hand
  • Decreased range of motion (side to side, up and down, circular)
  • Tingling or weakness in the arms

Diagnosis

The chiropractor may conduct a thorough examination of the neck. During the evaluation, he may observe the curvature and alignment of patient’s spine. To further evaluate the conditions, imaging tests such as X-ray and MRI may be suggested.

Treatment Options

Chiropractic Adjustments

The chiropractor may apply manual pressure on the neck joints. He may use a sudden force to move the joint beyond its normal range of motion. This helps to loosen up the sprained ligaments and muscles, which subsequently reduces pain and inflammation in the neck.

Spinal Decompression

During the procedure, chiropractor may apply pressure on the cervical spine to increase the distance between the discs. This method aims at reliving stiffness and inflammation in the soft tissues of the neck.

Traction

To restore neck’s mobility, the chiropractor may move patient’s neck in various directions and to different degrees. Traction helps to improve neck’s flexibility and eliminate pain.

Ultrasound Therapy

Low frequency sound waves are used by the chiropractor to alleviate the symptoms of neck sprain. The therapy may help to minimize pain and movement dysfunction of the neck. It may also help to reduce stiffness, swelling and increase the blood circulation in the affected area.

Chiropractic Care For Infants

by Administrator 18. May 2017 23:33

Chiropractic care is an alternative form of treating various health conditions without the intervention of any medicines. Although chiropractic care has been known to benefit people of all age groups, it has shown significant health benefits for infants.
Most of the infants suffer from strain in the neck and cranial areas following birth. However, chiropractic adjustments help the newborn babies to deal with trauma of the birth process. During the adjustments, the chiropractor applies minimal pressure to provide relief from a number of health conditions. This helps the infants to lead a healthy life and forms the basis of strong physical as well as mental development.

Signs that your infant needs chiropractic care:

  • Spinal tension: Excessive arching of the back can decrease flexibility in your child but chiropractic adjustments can help in decreasing stiffness in the back and promoting a good spinal structure.
  • Colic: Babies who cry consistently and have tensed muscles throughout the whole body are said to be affected by colic. Taking your infant to a chiropractic doctor can provide relief from this problem.
  • Irregularities in head shape: A problem in the neck might force the baby to tilt or move his neck only in one direction. Neck restriction can also cause irregularities in the shape of head in infants. If you notice any such problem, a chiropractor can help your baby.
  • Difficulty in breastfeeding: Limited range of neck motion can also make it difficult for infants to get breastfed properly. Again, an adjustment in the neck can bring about a huge change and provide relief from this problem.

Benefits of chiropractic care for infants:

  • Improved sleeping patterns: Chiropractic care improves sleep and promotes better sleeping patterns in infants. Chiropractic adjustments on a regular basis can help your baby get a good full night’s sleep and overcome all sleeping issues.
  • Strong brain development: Chiropractic treatment boosts nerve and brain development in children with the use of spinal manipulation techniques. Therefore, you should take your children to a chiropractor right from an early age in order to get full benefit of the treatment.
  • Strengthens immune system: Infants who get spinal adjustments by a chiropractor on a regular basis have lesser chances of falling sick as compared to other kids. A strong immune system is necessary to fight off seasonal infections and diseases.
  • Better digestion: Chiropractic adjustment can significantly improve digestive disorders such as Acid Reflux, gas, colic etc. Your infant will feel much happier and healthier after continued trips to a chiropractor.

We, at Corrective Chiropractic & Wellness, offer chiropractic treatment services for all age groups. To schedule an appointment, call at (254) 698 – 1600.

Tips To Improve Posture

by Administrator 27. March 2017 20:25

Poor posture is the most common cause of spine related problems. Prolong sitting jobs, changed lifestyle and lack of physical activities are the major factors contributing to its existence. Mentioned below are some tips that can assist you in maintaining your body’s anatomical and muscular balance:

Maintain Proper Alignment – This is the key to preserving a good posture. You must sit straight with your shoulder laid back, so that no extra weight is felt by your spine. While standing you must ensure that body’s weight is evenly distributed in both the legs. In order to avoid misalignment of the body you may try several things such as –

  • While standing you can imagine your head being pulled by a string towards the celling, this will allow you to keep the shoulders straight.
  • To avoid slouching you may think like carrying a book over your head, which should be balanced. This will let you stand or sit in a normal position.

Move Around – If your job require you to sit or stand for a longer duration, you must get up from the chair and give few seconds to stretch your body. This will allow you to maintain the flexibility of your spine and will keep you active throughout the day.

Exercise – Muscle stretching and strengthening exercises can help you to restore the functionality of your joints and spine. A regular exercise helps in elongating your torso, strengthening the abdominals and maintaining spine’s curvature. It also assists in reducing muscle stiffness and improving blood circulation in the body.

Use Posture Friendly Chairs – To maintain a good posture it is imperative that you choose chairs that support your spine and help you evenly distribute body’s weight. If your job require you to continuously work on a computer, try having the monitor placed at your eye level so that you do not have to bend your neck a lot.  You must also opt for chair that allows your feet to touch the floor easily.

Wear Supportive Footwear - Shoes that do not fit properly put knees and spine under pressure, which affects the gait pattern. Therefore, you should wear shoes that are comfortable and do not affect body’s center of gravity. While standing for a longer time you may place a rubber mat under the foot.

Sleep Properly – Sleeping with too high pillows or on very soft mattresses may affect the curvature of the spine. So it is important that you maintain a good sleeping posture. If you sleep on your side, it would be wise to keep a pillow between your knees so that the spine is aligned properly.

Chiropractic Treatment – This form of treatment uses various traction procedures and chiropractic manipulations to correct the positioning of your musculoskeletal system. The doctors develop a personalized treatment plan to cater the need of every patient.

If you are searching for posture correction treatment, visit, Corrective Chiropractic and Wellness. We are located at 560 E. Central Texas Expressway, Suite 102, Harker Heights, TX 76548. For additional information, you can call us at (254) 698 - 1600.

The Importance Of Prenatal Chiropractic Care

by Administrator 24. February 2017 23:12

A woman’s body undergoes various physical changes during pregnancy. In order to cope up with the severities that come along with pregnancy, it is important to stay healthy. Prenatal chiropractic care can help to maintain a balance in the body and ensure that the abdominal muscles are strong enough to bear the rigors of a childbirth.

Chiropractic care can help the would be mother in the following ways-

  • Preventing subluxations - The developing baby inside the womb may put pressure on the pelvic bones and due to the relaxation of the muscles and ligaments even the spine may get misaligned, leading to subluxation. This condition may make the mother uncomfortable and affect her nervous system by building pressure on the nerves, which may lead to muscle weakness, pain, sensory issues and improper functioning of other organs.

In order to improve the neuro-biomechanical function of the pelvis and eliminate subluxation issues, chiropractors use the Webster technique on their patients. In this the chiropractor aligns the two complex bones, pelvis and sacrum present at the bottom of the spine whose misalignment may cause severe low back pain and problem in the atlas bone, making it difficult for the patient to stand and walk.

  • Proper position of the fetus- The Webster technique helps the patients to prevent the breech position (the head isn’t upside down) of the baby. Uterosacral and pubocervical ligaments hold the uterus and act as shock absorbers in the abdomen. With the progress in pregnancy these ligaments become stretched, tight and thin causing sharp pain with any sudden movements such as sneezing, coughing etc. These constricted ligaments may restrict the normal movement of baby, causing it to remain in that position. The chiropractor applies pressure on these ligaments to help the patient obtain a vertex (head is upside down) position of their baby.

Chiropractic treatment also ensures that the s minimum labor pain while giving birth.

  • Prevention of Dystocia - It is a condition in which cervix and uterus muscles do not contract properly while giving birth and is the most common cause of intervention surgery. Uterus’ and cervix’s improper functioning may result from reduced neurological impulses which affect the optimal working of their muscles. Adequate spinal and cranial muscles adjustments given by chiropractors may help the patients to restore the functioning of these organs.
  • Reduce the poor posture problems – The protruding belly during pregnancy lays stress on your back and increases the curve which causes pain and posture related issues. Effective chiropractic techniques can help to eliminate this stress and prevent the long term problems.
  • Control pregnancy symptoms – Regular chiropractic care is effective in handling the regular symptoms of pregnancy such as nausea and morning sickness.

In order to avoid complications in pregnancy the chiropractors suggest their patients to follow certain preventive measures –

  • Swimming, walking or stationary cycling are the recommended exercises. They help to prevent stiffness and enhance the blood flow in the body. In case, a patient experiences nausea or dizziness, the exercise must be stopped.
  • Wearing flat shoes may be suggested to maintain a healthy spine.
  • The patients may be asked to bend using their knees instead of back, to avoid pressure on the abdomen.
  • To take pressure off the lower back, sleeping on the side with pillows kept between the knees may be recommended. For this, full length pillows and pregnancy wedges may be used.
  • The patients may be advised to take small meals after short intervals to alleviate nausea and maintain sugar balance of the body.
  • Chiropractors suggest their patients to consume diet rich in vitamins, minerals and iron for the perfect growth of developing fetus.
  • Chiropractic treatment is usually a safe and an effective practice during pregnancy. A regular chiropractic checkup and treatment can help to manage pain in patient’s back, hip or other joints. It can also help to restore the pelvic balance and reduce the delivery time.

We, at Corrective Chiropractic & Wellness, offer complete chiropractic care for would-be mothers to make sure that they have a happy pregnancy period. For more information about how chiropractic care can be helpful, feel free to call us at (254) 698 – 1600.

Chiropractic Care For Neck Sprain

by Administrator 17. February 2017 14:39

Neck sprain refers to stretching of the ligaments and soft tissues present between the cervical vertebrae, which supports the weight of the head. Cervical vertebrae is highly susceptible to injuries due to its substantial capability to move and rotate. Neck sprain is a common problem caused mainly due to poor lifestyle and posture issues. A chronic sprain may lead to severe issues and impact the range of motion of the cervical spine.

Causes

  • Sudden jerk in the neck
  • Keeping the neck bent for a prolonged period
  • Using a stiff or too high pillow
  • Resting your head on your fist or arm for a very long time
  • Keeping the head in odd positions while watching TV, reading or using a phone
  • Stretching of the neck during workout
  • Pinched Nerve
  • Obesity
  • Carrying heavy weight on shoulders
  • Growing age

Symptoms

  • Stiff neck ( problems in side to side, up-down and circular movements )
  • Pain may radiate from back of the head to neck and shoulders
  • Muscle spasm in shoulders
  • Numbness in arms and hands
  • Difficulty in sleeping
  • Sore Throat

Diagnosis

Physical examination to observe the posture, joint’s range of motion and the movements that cause pain to exaggerate. The curvature and alignment of patient’s spine may also be noted to check for spasm.

The chiropractor may conduct a neurological examination to observe the impacted nerve and patient’s reflexes. The following imaging tests may also be recommended:

  • X- Ray – It helps to identify any kind of bone related issue, such as a fracture, Arthritis, Bone Spur etc.
  • MRI and CT scans – These aid in visualizing any kind of herniation and bulging discs
  • EMG – An electromyography may be conducted to test your nerve response, if the chiropractor suspects a damaged nerve.

Chiropractic Care For Neck Sprain

The chiropractors use manual therapy and other chiropractic techniques to treat various musculoskeletal issues. They develop a customized treatment plan depending upon severity of the condition and symptoms experienced by the patient. The treatment includes the usage of neck adjustments, mobilization techniques, posture correction, rehabilitative exercises or traction procedures.

Neck Adjustments

These adjustments act as cervical manipulations which loosen the joints of cervical vertebrae, thereby improving spine’s mobility and range of motion. In just a couple of sittings, a patient may experience considerable reduction in pain and spasm along with increased muscle flexibility.

Cervical mobilization

The chiropractor moves the patient’s head in forward, backward, left and right directions, switching between the side motions and rotations. This technique aims at reducing stiffness between the spinal and the cervical segments.

Manual Traction

In this, the chiropractor stretches the patient’s spine, by pulling his neck at a certain angle that causes pain. This procedure is often combined with neck adjustments and cervical mobilization procedures to provide best results.

Interferential Stimulation

It is the most common electrical stimulation technique used in chiropractic setting which uses low frequency (<250pps) waves to stimulate the nerve impulses. This stimulation creates a current that sweeps into the affected neck tissue with very little resistance. The flowing current gives a massage like effect and triggers release of endorphins and pain relieving hormones which reduces swelling as well as soothes the muscles.

The chiropractic treatment reduces the production of inflammatory cytokines in the body, which may decrease muscle tension in the neck and help the patients to recover fast.

Neck Sprain Prevention Tips

  • Sit straight with relaxed shoulders and lower back supported
  • When working on computer, adjust the screen at eye level
  • Avoid sleeping on your stomach
  • Use pillows that provide neck support
  • Perform exercises to strengthen your neck muscles
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Carry weight evenly on your shoulders
  • Maintain a healthy body weight

Chiropractic Treatment For Scoliosis

by Administrator 26. January 2017 18:41

Scoliosis is a condition in which the spine is deformed and attains a sideways curvature either an “S or C” shaped. It leads to mechanical dysfunction of the backbone and in severe cases interferes with breathing. Scoliosis is more common in people between the age group of 10 – 20 and the ratio of affected females is more than males. This spine dystrophy reduces life expenatancy of an individual because it reduces the oxygen supply to the body by putting strain on the heart.

Risk Factors

  • Chances of having scoliosis increase if someone in family was already affected by it
  • Scoliosis  signs begin to appear in people mostly before attaining puberty
  • Poor posture
  • Delayed puberty in teens
  • Women undergoing post-menopausal period have lower estrogen levels which reduces bone density
  • Weak Bones and deficiency of nutrients
  • Osteoporosis

Causes

  • Injuries to the spinal cord
  • Heredity factors
  • Disorders like cerebral palsy
  • Imbalanced hormones
  • Abnormal bone development from birth

Symptoms

  • Body leaning towards one side
  • Disproportionate shoulders and hips
  • Waistline is uneven
  • Head appears to be off-centre and not above the pelvis
  • Spine grows in either C or S shape
  • Numbness is felt in toes, finger and limbs
  • Difficulty in breathing as a lot of pressure if formed on the lungs
  • Spinal discs start degenerating at a faster rate
  • Digestive problems
  • Excessive pain during mensuration, due to shift of the pelvis
  • Headache
  • Pain in hip knee and legs
  • Chronic backache
  • Difficulty in movement

Chiropractic Care For Scoliosis

Chiropractic care dates back to 1800’s when it was started by a man named D.D. Palmer.  These techniques are very accurate in correcting the spine and its position. Since Chiropractic care is a holistic approach for the treatment they see the body as a whole and try to provide correction to all the spine portions that are misaligned. Chiropractors take care of the facts that the adjustments should be made in such a manner that they do not cause further mobility of the spine.

Chiropractic adjustments

Alignment of the spine depends majorly on the position of the atlas bone. In normal conditions the head is placed at the centre of the spine followed by rest of the vertebra underneath. In Scoliosis the atlas shifts from its normal position and to compensate the brain tries to align rest of the vertebrae with it leading to bad curvature of the spine.  Chiropractic adjustments try to align the atlas and the spine. The Chiropractor may apply pressure for some minutes by using hands or an instrument at the spinal area after identifying the misaligned portion, in repeated cycles. These adjustments help to regain the normal Cobb’s angle and strengthen the surrounding damaged soft tissues.

Muscular rehabilitation exercises

Chiropractor may suggest the patient some rehabilitation exercises which prevent the further progression of Scoliosis. The exercises include the use of corrective weights, exercises for upper body rotation and the use of foam blocks to correct the alignment.

Posture correction

Correction of posture plays a significant role in preventing Scoliosis. Chiropractors suggest a combination of chiropractic manipulations, traction procedures and rehabilitation exercises. This helps further bending and rotating of the spine.

Prevention Tips

  • Maintain a good posture, avoid activities that require you to bend
  • Do not swim or sleep on your stomach as its causes the thoracic spine to deflate
  • Avoid high jumps, dancing, and bending because it causes the further rotation of the spine
  • Don’t carry heavy things as it puts pressure on the spine
  • Use firm mattress
  • Take a walk and do stretching exercise frequently
  • Eat good food which is rich in minerals and vitamins

by Administrator 16. January 2017 22:30

Knee pain is a common problem that affects almost every age group. The knee is a complex structure comprising of three major bones - femur, tibia and patella. Various tendons and ligaments are responsible for maintaining the stability of the joint. A tear or stretch in them can lead to knee pain. The condition can either be acute or chronic and may cause difficulty in performing day to day activities.

Causes

  • Direct blow to the knee
  • Age related degeneration of the ligaments and tendons that surround the knee joint
  • Knee conditions such as ACL Tear, Osteoarthritis, Runner’s Knee, Torn Meniscus etc.
  • Physical activities, like running, cycling and jumping, can cause inflammation of the tendons
  • Over striding
  • Sudden change of direction with the foot planted on the ground
  • Excessive weight
  • Weak muscles and bones
  • Incorrect landing from a jump
  • Twisting of the upper leg or knee
  • Improper stretching of muscles before exercise
  • Bursitis - Inflammation of bursae (sac filled with synovial fluid)due to activities that require frequent kneeling, e.g. gardening

Symptoms

  • Constant or intermittent pain in the knee
  • Swelling
  • Tenderness to touch
  • Visible deformity, redness and discoloration around the site of pain
  • Pain may increase while walking and standing
  • Difficulty in straightening or bending the leg
  • Feeling of warmth and stiffness in the knee joint

Chiropractic Care For Knee Pain

Chiropractic treatment is very effective in providing relief from acute as well as chronic knee pain. It aims at correcting any kind of misalignment or dislocation present in the joint. The chiropractic techniques usually involve a set of exercises and manual therapies to restore the normal motion, flexibility as well as stability of the knee.

Depending upon the cause and severity of knee pain, the chiropractor may recommend any of the following treatment methods:

Chiropractic Adjustments
The chiropractic adjustments involve gently manipulating the joint’s structures to eliminate pain and restore the normal range of motion of the knee. The therapy also corrects the position of dislocated bones, if any. When combined with certain corrective exercises, patients can witness a significant improvement in knee pain and muscle strength.

Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound therapy involves the use of ultrasonic waves to transmit heat into the affected tissues  to relieve pain. This therapy helps to reduce inflammation, stiffness, swelling, pain and increase blood circulation in the knee. Along with ultrasound therapy and joint manipulation, the chiropractor may also suggest certain stretching exercises to promote a faster recovery.

Rehabilitation Program
Chiropractors help their patients to get rid of knee pain by recommending certain exercises that involve gentle and passive movements of the joint. Patients may be advised to perform the exercises on a regular basis to heal any biomechanical misalignment present in the knee joint and improve its strength.

Interferential Therapy
It works on the principle of using a low voltage current that sweeps down into the damaged tissue. The chiropractor may recommend the use of interferential therapy because it proves very effective in pain management, swelling reduction and muscle strengthening.

Extremity Adjustments
Sometimes people who have previously suffered from a knee injury may experience constant pain for many years due to permanent damage, misalignment or dislocation of bones. In such situations, extremity adjustments may help to provide relief from the symptoms. The treatment involves realigning the medial meniscus or fibular head, to restore the normal anatomical structure of the knee joint.

Prevention Tips

  • Maintain an optimal body weight to avoid putting pressure on the knee
  • Maintain proper leg alignment by wearing shoes with a  good fit and arch support
  • Do regular exercise to improve joint strength and flexibility
  • Avoid carrying heavy weights
  • Do not begin any sports activity without proper stretching

It should be noted that the pain may take some time to subside depending upon the severity of the condition.

Text Neck: How Chiropractors Can Help?

by Administrator 24. November 2016 16:25

Text Neck refers to an overuse syndrome characterized by soreness of the upper back accompanied by severe neck pain. Looking down at the mobile phone screen for prolonged periods can greatly damage the spine. The condition may also lead to serious medical conditions such as Arthritis, Pinched Nerve, Disc Herniation etc.

Causes

  • Overuse of mobile phones and similar electronic devices
  • Keeping the neck bent downwards or slouching in order to look at the mobile screen for longer periods
  • Reading steadily for prolonged periods can also be a cause

Symptoms

  • Tightness and soreness of the shoulder muscles
  • Pain in the neck
  • In extreme cases, it may be accompanied by headaches
  • Increased curvature of the spine
  • Inflammation of the neck muscles and veins
  • Pain may extend to the arms and wrists

Chiropractic Treatment For Text Neck

The chiropractor may conduct a thorough examination by inquiring about the symptoms and the history of neck pain. He may observe the movement of the neck, signs of tenderness and numbness in the shoulders.
Some of the common techniques used by chiropractors have been listed below:

Cervical Mobilization

This technique helps to remove any restrictions in the range of motion of the neck. The chiropractor uses hand movements to move the vertebrae from right to left and vice versa, while the patient lies on his back in a relaxed state. The procedure also involves moving the head forward, backward and to the sides.

Cervical Manual Traction

This method involves a gentle pulling of the neck by the chiropractor. The patient may rest in a comfortable position, be it sitting, lying on the back or the stomach. However, the most preferable position would be lying on the back with head on one edge of the table. The chiropractor may cup the base of the skull with one hand and cover the chin with the other. This technique is followed by a gentle traction to realign the spine.

Exercises

An important aspect when treating the Text Neck Syndrome is to maintain the right posture. Using a cell phone correctly requires holding it at an elevated angle. Slouching or bending the neck even by 15 degrees can significantly increase the pressure on the spine and lead to the condition. Practicing certain exercises can help to treat the symptoms:

Chin Tucking Exercise

This can help to strengthen the neck muscles and improve the alignment of the spine.

Procedure- Sit straight on a chair. Slowly bend your neck in order to touch your chin to the chest. This helps to stretch the muscles at the base of the neck. This exercise can be repeated multiple times a day, in any comfortable sitting position.

Head Rotation

It can be done to improve flexibility of the neck muscles. It also helps to ward-off any stiffness in the shoulders and neck by increasing the flow of blood to the muscles.
Procedure- Sit or stand in a comfortable position with the hands on the sides. Rotate your head in order to look at your right shoulder and stay in the position for 3-4 seconds. Repeat by rotating the head in order to look over the left shoulder for 3-4 seconds. Repeat the same process 8-10 times a day.

Shoulder Rotation

This exercise is very effective in restoring alignment of the spine.
Procedure- Place your arms down on your sides and stand straight. Rotate the shoulders back and forth in sets of 10-12. Rest for a few seconds and repeat the same vice versa. This exercise is a great way of treating stiff and sore shoulder muscles.
Exercising regularly can prove to be of great help in treating the symptoms of Text Neck.

Preventive Measures

Listed below are some preventative measures for the condition:

  • Maintain your posture to avoid bending the head forward
  • Practice exercises to strengthen the spine
