Chiropractic Helps New Mothers Produce Milk

by Administrator 21. February 2011 14:28

The Scientific Periodical Journal or Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics published three cases citing evidence that chiropractic therapy played a major role in the production of adequate mother’s milk in lactating mothers. This study was published in the March 2007 issue and provided substantial claim that chiropractic care could cure Hypo-lactation, a medical condition in which there is a decreased milk production in mothers of new born babies.

In the first study, the condition of a woman was studied who was advised to visit a chiropractor for her condition. Even after ten days of giving birth, she was not able to produce enough milk for her second newborn even though there was no such problem observed at the time of her first baby. Apart from this problem, she also experienced slight trouble in taking down water.
After being studied by the chiropractor, it was concluded that she suffered from a subluxation. Corrective measures were taken to provide a solution to her problem. As soon as her second session was complete, she reported great ease in ingesting water. After going in for therapeutic sessions three times, she noticed a significant increase in the amount of milk she was able to produce. This lead to an enhancement in the health of the child as well as he was no longer dependant on artificial milk formulas available in the market.

The second case documented the story of a woman who consulted a chiropractor for pain in the upper back area. She too had great difficulty in producing enough milk for her baby who was one month of age. She had never before suffered from any health problems. The chiropractitioner performed the tests and found subluxations in her body. After the chiropractor administered treatments to get rid of these subluxations, she started to observe an increase in the size of her breasts. The level of milk she could produce also rose. Another remarkable thing that occurred was that after as little as four sessions, she no longer had any back ache.

The third study documented the plight of a woman who also was finding it quite hard to fulfill her baby’s need for milk. However, after a period of twenty four hours since her chiropractic treatment began, she was able to do so.

This leads to the conclusion that the existence of subluxations plays a significant role in determining the amount of milk production in mothers. Chiropractic therapy can correct these subluxations and restore normal production levels.

Chiropractic Helps Patients With Acute Back Pain and Sciatica with Disc Protrusion

by Administrator 14. February 2011 08:27

The Italian publication called The Spine Journal documented a case study in March proving the benefits of chiropractic therapy for those suffering from severe back ache along with disc protuberance and lumbago. This random trial was conducted with a hundred and two patients who had medium to high levels of soreness. They were also said to be having protuberances as showcased by MRI scans conducted on them.

The study involved the division of all the participants into two sets one of whom underwent chiropractic treatment through five days of the week. This therapy was conducted by chiropractors who had been in this medical line for a sizable number of years. The second set of volunteers on the other hand received another form of treatment known as simulated manipulations which could not actually qualify as chiropractic therapy.

The outcome of chiropractic care was quite positive as those who received the actual treatment experienced great improvement health wise when compared to those who only received an imitation. Among those who underwent chiropractic treatment, fifty percent were said to be completely recovered from painful back aches while only twenty percent of those who received the simulated treatment became free from pain. In terms of localized pain too, there were similar results as twenty eight percent of those who underwent chiropractic sessions showed optimistic results while only six percent of the other group showed similar results.

The participants belonging to the first group recorded at least six days when they remained completely free of pain. Moreover, they also appeared to require a lower amount of oral medicines to combat the pain. The chiropractic sessions alone were enough to completely get rid of the pain attached to these ailments.

One similarity among both the participating groups was that there were absolutely no unfavorable results as a result of any of the treatments. The authorities conducting this useful study found that when actual chiropractic treatment was received in case of the above mentioned ailments, there was a significant amount of pain relief in all cases when compared to simulations in which case there was a chance of failure for some people.

Birth Trauma & Chiropractic

by Administrator 7. February 2011 11:24

The world is now beginning to wake up to a point of view that was until recently largely endorsed by chiropractors alone. Chiropractors have always understood and emphasized the importance of treating the process of birth as a natural procedure that is not to be viewed from a medical point of view. These days, the delivery process is marked by heavy sedation and surgical procedures like C-sections that may in the long run be harmful to babies born in such abnormal ways that are not warranted by nature.

Chiropractors are very concerned about the development of subluxations in babies who are not delivered naturally. These may cause problems later on in life for an individual who is not born from a normal delivery. There has been all kinds of documented evidence proving that the nervous system of such an individual is adversely affected and in some cases, the neck area may also be damaged. Sometimes, the damage can be so severe so as to be spread to the spinal cord as well.

Apart from chiropractors, many other medical professionals have found that the positioning of the mother at the time of delivery that is prescribed in hospitals all over the world and the pulling that is done by the doctor is responsible for these subluxations. The mother, by lying down in the stated position makes the birthing process complicated by acting against gravity. There is a lot of pushing and pulling forces that are applied from opposite ends on the baby’s body that can lead to a kind of shock for the baby trying to make its way out.

There are many babies that are abnormally swollen, showcase spinal damage, experience blood loss from the brain and other nervous system defects. Sometimes, stillborn babies are also an indirect result of the conventional birthing process that is currently followed by doctors. In some cases, even though the baby looks healthy upon being born, he/she may show various problems like headaches, reduced immunity, vision problems, etc. as he/she grows up.

In order to enhance the birthing process and eliminate these problems, chiropractors suggest a change in the positioning of the mother at the time of delivery. She should ideally be either in a squatting position or in a sitting or upright position so that gravity can aid the birth. Babies born without excessive force and pressure applied on them tend to be healthier and showcase minimal nervous disorders.
